Would you like to know what your kindergartener is up to all week long? Here it is! Each week I will post a general description of what we are working on and occasional suggestions of how you can help them reinforce it at home.

Week of: 3/27

Theme: Earth materials

Reading- intro to comprehension strategies: pause and think, main idea/details, sequencing, story elements, etc.

Sight Words: mi, me, gusta, mamá, papá, y, el, la, los, las, yo, veo, nosotros, un, una, si, vente, conmigo, con, mi, tú, qué, ahora, quedan, soy, son, cómo, este, esta, en, ser, para, van, más, jugar, hacer, dijo, bien, él, ella, todos

Introduction to verbs- conjugate nosotros

Word Study- gatos are working on identifying the first letter sound, perros are identifying the first syllable, ranas are working on entire two-syllable words (correct spelling), and pingüinos are beginning tricky syllables (ge/gi and after break gue/gui)

Please encourage your child to read their baggie book each night at home. For those who have not yet mastered letter names/sounds and/or syllables, they should spend a few minutes on those skills each night as well.

Math- Story Problems!, addition using dominoes and number lines, review 3D shapes

Science- rocks, dirt, sand, plants, worms!
